Madame CHANE Jeanne was born in Uturoa in the island of Raiatea and is part of a line of vanilla preparers of which she represents the third generation since, before her, her grandfather, then her father worked already on vanilla.

Her destiny is thus made. She was born thus vanilla preparer and spent
60 whole long years to do this job which, in fact, represents all her lovely life.

Honorary distinctions paid homage to her since from 1990 to 1995, during her six consecutive years of participation in the agricultural fair of Tahiti, she obtained the first prices.

The supreme dedication came from the French Government which, in 1995, to pay homage to her devotion to the national die of vanilla, named her:

Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole
